Fashion takes centre stage on Day 1 of the Irish Champions Festival as Ireland’s premier menswear retailer, Louis Copeland, and family-owned luxury hotel group, Ardán Collective, join forces to sponsor the ‘Champions of Style’ Award at Leopardstown Racecourse on Saturday 13th September.
The Awards mark the much-anticipated return of the style competition to the fixture for the first time since 2023. Throughout the day, style spotters will be curating a shortlist of best-dressed racegoers, with the final looks judged by Louis Copeland and renowned Irish fashion stylist, Sarah Kate Byrne.
Louis Copeland & Sons, a name synonymous with exceptional tailoring and service since 1933, will honour Ireland’s most stylish man with a legendary made-to-measure suit valued at €1,000. Two runners-up will receive a made-to-measure shirt, each valued at €250.
In the ladies' category, Ardán Collective will award three luxurious prizes drawn from their portfolio of hotel properties including:
1st prize: Weekend in London for two in The Exhibitionist Hotel, a boutique hotel in Kensington, one of London's best kept secrets. The trip includes flights, breakfast and sophisticated cocktails in their Bar & Lounge.
2nd prize: Two-night stay for two guests in the new Boyne view Suite in Bellinter House Hotel and Spa, a magnificent 18th-century Georgian house, located in the heart of the Boyne Valley in Co Meath. The luxury prize includes dinner on one evening and access to their new thermal area.
3rd prize: Lunch and half-day pamper package in Bellinter House with access to the new thermal area for two guests.
Sheila O’Riordan, Owner of Ardán Collective commented: We’re delighted to be involved in the Champions of Style Awards. Our name Ardán means ‘Elevate’. That’s the guiding principle behind everything we do, whether it’s an elevated look or an elevated experience. This partnership allows us to celebrate that, and we can’t wait to see the style and creativity everyone brings to the race day.”
Louis Copeland, Owner of Louis Copeland & Sons, said: “A day at the races continues to be a standout occasion where men of all ages make a special effort. Style is about individuality, confidence, and those subtle finishing touches that set’s the outfit apart. To celebrate this, I will be presenting pocket squares to racegoers on the day, adding a little more distinction to every suit.”
Stylist Sarah Kate Byrne, well known for curating ITV Racing Style, shared her advice for racegoers “I am so excited to be judging the ‘Champions of Style’ Award at the Irish Champions Festival 2025, alongside an Irish icon of men’s fashion, Louis Copeland. In the words of another Irish fashion icon, Carmel Snow "Elegance is good taste with a dash of daring", so I will be looking for elegant and stylish ensembles that stand out from the crowd.”
Style spotting will begin around the Champions Garden Party from 12.15pm, with winners announced on stage at 4.30pm. For more information, please visit irishchampionsfestival.ie
