Irish Champions Festival 2026 - Press Accreditation Terms & Conditions
Media accreditation, for Irish Champions Festival at Leopardstown and The Curragh on Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, is now open.
Media accreditation is mandatory and applications must be submitted by close of business, Monday August 24. No applications can be accepted after this date.
Application does not guarantee accreditation. You will receive notification by email if the application is approved or declined.
Leopardstown and the Curragh reserves the right to withhold accreditation and each application will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Due to capacity, priority will be given to full-time journalists, broadcasters and photographers who work for recognised publications, TV, and radio stations, who have daily deadlines.
No applications will be processed from freelance journalists or photographers. Any freelance journalists or photographers wishing to apply must get their editors to fill out the application on their behalf.
Freelance applications must be accompanied by a company headed letter from the commissioning editor / producer or picture desk editor of the publication, programme (TV or radio), the applicant is representing.
Media accreditation badges will be sent by post to the address given or left for collection.
All members of the accredited press and photographers are requested to display their allocated press badge and photographer bib once inside the racecourse. This applies to all accredited press and photographers and overrides the AIR (Association of Irish Racecourses) photo armband policy.
AIR press card holders should access the tracks through the AIR turnstiles but are requested to display their Irish Champions Festival press pass once inside the racecourse.
It is a condition of accreditation that your press badge should not be transferred to another person under any circumstances. Each badge is number allocated and identifiable for this reason.
Failure to comply with conditions of accreditation will result in removal of all privileges and may affect the success of future applications.
Track and parade ring access is limited and will be issued at the discretion of Leopardstown and the Curragh.
Photographers and videographers will be required to attend a mandatory briefing to validate press accreditation. Missing this briefing may result in the loss of positions, revocation of credentials, or denial of access.
All photographs and videographers who are approved for accreditation must provide the following evidence of insurance from their insurance company / broker:
The minimum requirements are:
- Employers' liability limit €13,000,000 each and every claim, if you have employees at the racecourse. Where evidence not provided photographers, videographers, camera crews must confirm in writing that they will have no employees with them at the racecourse.
- Public Liability limit € 6,500,000* (see below) each and every claim
The policy should include a specific indemnity to both Leopardstown Club Ltd and Curragh Racecourse Ltd. (Specific indemnity confirms if photographers, videographers and camera crews are found to be legally liable for a claim, that they will indemnify the racecourse accordingly)
*Public liability
A Public Liability limit of €6,500,000 is always required where available. In exceptional circumstances only, where higher limits are not available in your respective insurance market, (this is only applicable outside UK/EU), our insurers may accept a lower limit. However, the highest limit available in that market must be in place.
Outside UK/EU, noting Leopardstown Club Ltd and Curragh Racecourse Ltd as ‘additional insured’ on your policies is acceptable, in place of a specific indemnity
